For the fourth consecutive month, meat exports were over 80 thousand carcass-weight equivalent (TEC). Although there was a reduction compared to July, it was 14 thousand TEC higher than August last year.
Chinese demand dropped during August but volume was compensated by higher volumes exported to EU, Israel and Chile. According to non official estimations, it is expected to reach 850,000 TEC this year, depending on what the government decide about meat expots.
